Déja vu – The Room Where it Happened (Twice)

You’ve kept me in the room where it happened…for the last time

Death Stranding (again)

I finally finished Death Stranding and it did not disappoint. There were a few false credit sequences and post-credits experiences that were incredibly Kojima-esque. There were a few incredible story reveals at the very last moment.

Rest assured, Death Stranding 2 is making its way here in the post as I write this. Soon…

The Theatre (again)

If the photo looks familiar, it’s because we ended up at Hamilton for a second time in the Theatre Royal in Plymouth. The performance was once again excellent. We were in the upper circle this time as opposed to the stalls which was a different experience. It was easier to appreciate the overall staging and lighting cues, but not quite as immersive as being in the middle of the action.

Some choice phrases were uttered by theatre goers in front of us, revealing the broad spectrum of knowledge on the founding of the United States of America.

“George Washington was one of the first presidents, I think”

Yes. Yes he was. I think.

The frame, before recent upgrades

Climbing frame update

The climbing frame continues to expand. I recently caved and bought the cubby house for the top of the frame, then after struggling to get in and out, an additional support pole to move the cargo next to the centre. I would recommend getting all of the bits you think you’ll need at the time of first installation because fitting the parts after it’s built is a minor nightmare. As solid as the kit is (basically scaffolding poles that are powder coated), the instructions that come with it are somewhat challenging. There are assumptions built in and missing steps. It is frustrating when you realise the way you’ve approached part of the installation is sub-optimal and needs some fudging to get it back on track.

Regardless, I managed to fit the bits back together. We’ve been getting plenty of use out of the frame so far, and other than some installation hiccups, I’d recommend Growplay. I even tried pricing out some of the steel tubing and fittings myself including powder coating and the price wasn’t outrageously different.

More DIY

Another job off the list. I finally got round to cutting out the awkward section of the door frame/trim and replaced with a new piece once I fitted the threshold bar. After a lot of faffing I gave up and used silicone to level the underside somewhat as the floor was uneven. It wasn’t a perfect solution but it’s an improvement on what we had before.
