Camping? In the UK? Is that wise?
This one will be shorter by necessity as I’m writing on a phone rather than a proper computer. We’re outside of Lyme Regis in a rather quaint campsite overlooking some beautiful countryside. Bucking the trend for campsites, we also have 4G reception.

The Polestar 2 capacity has been pushed to the limit. Fitting our Berghaus Air Nightfall tent is no mean feat, and once all the tent paraphernalia is in, there isn’t much space for any human occupants. It was a comfortable drive up the A38 and M5 to get here, and something of a novelty being so close when we’re used to losing half a day to travel.
We’re on holiday, so let’s talk about food.

Smashland Burgers
This one is Plymouth-based rather than Jurassic coast, but bear with me. The smash burger trend has exploded over the last year or so. To the uninitiated, it involves, surprisingly, placing a ball of mince meat on a grill and flattening it to make a thinner and crispier patty. It’s not the be all and end all, but it can make for a really delicious burger if done well. One place doing them very well is smAshland Burgers.
The business has been operating out of pop-ups for some time, but their permanent location is now at Commercial Wharf in the Barbican, around the corner from the Mayflower steps.

I went for the double Hatfield which is the novelty Biscoff burger, with a Biscoff crumb, cream, and topped off with the biscuit itself. The burger was exquisite, although I found the Biscoff a tad overwhelming. I’m a sucker for trying uniquely individual food creations and this was one that stood out, but I must confess that I don’t get the Biscoff trend at all. It holds no special place in my heart so perhaps I’m not the target audience. Next time I’m thinking about trying the spicy Mothman. The fries were also delicious.

Resident Evil 6
We finished the fight. It didn’t take long to finish Leon’s campaign, and despite how enjoyable certain aspects of the game were, I was a little underwhelmed. They had the makings of something quite special but didn’t follow through on any aspect really. The story was short and of little substance, with an eternity spent on a cave level. The strongest elements were when the game harkened back to Raccoon City in Resident Evil 2. Things only got worse the more grandiose and action packed the setting became. The weapon UI was quite clumsy in the heat of battle and although the partner AI was improved from RE5, it still had dodgy moments resulting in the odd game over.

So have I given up? Nope. There are four different campaign options and I’m going to work through them all. I’m interested to see if altogether they make one coherent story, or just die trying. I suspect the better format would’ve been to play through the game once, switching characters at key points. Maybe they thought it would be more replayable with extra characters?
The Leon campaign is finished so we’re on to the Chris one. I’ll post more once I’ve finished his story. It sounds like I hate the game, but there have been really fun moments and it’s much better than I expected. It helps that my expectations were at rock bottom.
