Walls, Fletchers, and Games
The Wall Building will Continue until Morale Improves Yes, I have brutalised myself, but all in the name of progress. The wall has come together quite quickly. Is it perfect? Far from it, but it hasn’t fallen down yet and doesn’t look horrendous. It is a long overdue project as I hated the old pseudo-brick…

Split Slate and Fiction
A little bit of gaming, and a little bit of DIY. The dry stone walling workshop at Quince Honey Farm was fun, and though the stones were heavy, the detail was light. The most important messages I took away were to just give it a try. And backfill. Lots of backfill. In this context it’s…

Reading on a Deadline
Because what better way is there to relax than a threat of impending confiscation… The Library No, I’m not talking about your Steam Library. Or your PlayStation catalogue. A New Normal
Full disclosure: I’ve chucked in a few affiliate links for Amazon for things that I’ve bought over the last few weeks. If you so choose to click through, I may earn a small amount from the sale, but in no way feel like you have to. It’s just something I’m experimenting with to cover WordPress…

Storms and Shenmue
Another lockdown update, as the country slowly re-opens and establishes a new “normal”. More baking, gaming and DIY. The weather hasn’t been encouraging for gardening. Shenmue 3 I ended the last post on a pessimistic note about Shenmue 3. It felt dated, clumsy, graphically disappointing and carried on the tradition of abysmal voice acting. It’s…

Sun, Scones and (s)Upcycling
Full disclosure: I’ve got an Amazon affiliate link to drawer handles later in the post. Feel free to click and buy, or not. It helps cover the costs of domain registration and keeps the blog ad free. That’s a shoe-horned title if ever there was one, but it captures the gist of the weekend. Baking…
