On the Edit
Shelving the Desktop? Due to an “internal technical issue”, my Alienware desktop order was cancelled. I had planned on re-ordering it but was reliably informed by my Intel-insider that the 15th generation of Intel CPUs was due to launch within the next month so it might be worth holding off. So that’s exactly what I…

Behind the Scenes of Newforge Studios’ 2024 Halloween Film (Kind of)
Yes, it’s that time of year again as we creep ever closer to the Spooky Season! And like most other years (barring 2019), there will be a Newforge Studios Halloween film. We shot on location at the Walkhampton Inn last sunday which, whilst a great location, brought a raft of other challenges. Working between guests…

I Fix Things
Or at least I’d like to… Half a week in Southampton and a failed platelet donation later, and I’m left with little energy to write. Time for a throw back list! I was heartened to read a recent comment that someone had fixed their sewing machine off the back of a post I wrote a…

A Barbican Brunch
The title says it all. We were down in the city centre of Plymouth several times over the weekend for Seafest-related events (and Toddler Club at Everyman, of course). On Saturday after the cinema we had a quick walk through the stalls on display at Royal William Yard and got to try some circus equipment…

Gaming and Camping (Gamping?)
When you feel like doing nothing else, there are always games to comfort you. Being ill isn’t fun, but games are. Mostly. The fun ones, at least. I’ve gotten back into Horizon Forbidden West, a game I have had on the go for a long time now. It’s a densely packed experience and one I…

Burgers, Camping, and Camp Survival Horror?
Camping? In the UK? Is that wise? This one will be shorter by necessity as I’m writing on a phone rather than a proper computer. We’re outside of Lyme Regis in a rather quaint campsite overlooking some beautiful countryside. Bucking the trend for campsites, we also have 4G reception. The Polestar 2 capacity has been…

Metal Shed Solid
Shed, what’s happening? Shed? Shed?! Sheeeeddddd!!! The base is complete! It was in the last issue, and it remains complete. Things have finally moved on with the rest of the build. I started laying out the base panels for a dry run to make sure they were well positioned. On reflection I would have extended…

Shed Loads of Progress?
Shed-gate? Water-shed? It’s not really a scandal, but it is taking a while. Why not have a coffee while you wait? Since getting the bean-to-cup machine I’ve been giving latte art more of a go. The old coffee machine took quite an age to steam milk given its tiny boiler, but it’s a breeze with…

A Tight Shed-ule
One week to do a lot of groundwork, and still continue to attend my actual job… Once the trench was dug out and level(ish), I compacted the soil with the plate compactor before starting the single biggest job. Shovelling four tonnes of subbase was quite the back breaking affair. I had to change tack slightly…

Diggy Diggy Hole
I am a man and I’m digging a hole… Last we left off, I was finishing sealing up the Hellmouth uncovered beneath my shed. This must be distinctly understood, or nothing wonderful can come of the story I am going to relate. (It’s hard to tell if you’ve made progress digging a hole by showing pictures of similar holes,…
