Only on the internet could a joke rapidly become one of the most wanted video games. I am talking about the one and only Goat Simulator, the physics based game that has the player wreaking havoc as a goat. It’s an idea so ridiculous, and fantastic that it is hard not to love it. Even the developers of the game suggest that money would be better spent on something other than the game:

“To be completely honest, it would be best if you’d spend your $10 on a hula hoop, a pile of bricks, or maybe a real-life goat”

And by their own admission, it is a small and broken game that was made in a few weeks, but that hasn’t stopped it from becoming one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2014. From the look of the trailers, gameplay is similar to Gary’s mod, except with a goat, and players are able to design custom maps too. Honestly, I am really looking forward to Goat Simulator, and I’ve already pre-ordered so I should be able to get hold of the game over the weekend. I’ll report back after I’ve played it for a bit – I would point out that the developers say it is better to have low to no expectations going in, but how can you not get excited about a game centered around a goat?! Take a look at the launch trailer and see if it reminds you of anything else. Who needs Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes when you can have goats!
